| Open-Door Policy
Parents are welcome to visit CDO at any time during the hours of operation.
Parents may observe their child, the operation of CDO and the program
activities without having to secure prior approval.
Questions or Concerns
Parents that have questions or concerns regarding their child or their
child’s teacher are asked to contact the teacher directly. If further
discussion is required, parents are welcome to visit with the CDO Director
or the chairperson of the CDO Board.
Guidance Methods
CDO uses guidance and discipline techniques that are based on an understanding
of individual needs and development while promoting self-discipline and
acceptable behavior. The use of positive guidance methods help children
learn self control without the loss of self esteem. Limits are clearly
stated in positive terms. A variety of other methods for encouraging children’s
cooperation are used. These include redirection, positive reinforcement
and choices between acceptable behaviors.
