A seven-week course taught by Robert Hall, Thursdays, Sept. 18 through Oct. 30, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. If you are convinced that it doesn’t matter much what you believe so long as you are sincere, you won’t like this class! If you believe that you are so much more clever than your great-grandparents and that you stand at the summit of human development, you won’t like this class! If you think that religion is purely a private matter, you won’t like this course! But if you would like to dig into basic Christian beliefs from a Methodist standpoint, this may be the class you have been waiting for. The substance of the course will be both theological and practical, as befits disciples who have inherited the spirits of John and Charles Wesley. The book you will be encouraged to read is United Methodist Beliefs: A Brief Introduction by William H. Willimon. The class sessions will include lecture and discussion. The class will be limited to 20 participants. Cost $15

Adam Hamilton, founding pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas.

What does this book tell us about our past, present, and future as the beloved children of God? This four week study will work through these and other questions focusing on the message behind the book of Revelation and the Methodist understanding of God’s promise for hope, for peace, and for a new world. The class is limited to 12 participants.
Adults Can Experience Narnia Too! A book club discussion with Rev. Tanya Eustace
Your Narnia experience begins Thursday October 30th 7:00-9:00 p.m. In the Chronicles of Narnia, C. S. Lewis creates an amazing, fascinating, and imaginative world. Through this imaginative world, Lewis creates a masterpiece that appeals to children and adults, helping them grow in their understanding of God. Rev. Tanya Eustace invites you to experience this world, to struggle with your understanding of God, and to return from Narnia with a deeper understanding of your personal relationship with the Almighty. This book club will meet once a month to discuss each of the books in the Chronicles of Narnia series. The course will start with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The class is limited to 15 participants.
