Upcoming Children’s Ministries Events at TUMC

Stewardship Sunday (3yrs-5th grade) October 26 - 9:30 & 11:00 worship services
All children ages 3yrs-5th grade are invited to process with the choir and to lead the congregation in singing “this little light of mine” on Sunday October 26th. This is an important day where we remember how God calls us to make a difference and to share God’s love with others. Interested children should gather in the narthex 15 minutes before the worship service begins. Kay McHorse will be there to greet you and to give you directions. Parents are encouraged to process with their young children.

M&M’s: Mission and Madness (4th-5th grade)
November 7, 6:30-8:30
Mission and Outreach program for 4th & 5th graders. Come join us for food, fun, and games while we work together to help others. Our November event will take us on a shopping trip for Thanksgiving goodies.
We will be shopping for 5 families who are in need of our help this Thanksgiving. Start collecting your quarters and join us for mission and madness on November 7. Contact: Rev. Tanya Eustace 472-3111 or tanya@tarrytownumc.org.

Preschool Bible Study: Preparing for Advent
Nov. 3 - Dec. 15, 12:30-1:00
(special note: the class will not meet on October 27th and/or November 10th)
This weekly class for 3 and 4 year olds meets on Mondays from 12:30-1:00 in room 222. Come join us as we use music, crafts, stories, movies, and more to investigate the meaning of advent as we prepare our hearts for Christmas.

Way of the Child: Preparing for Advent & Epiphany
Nov. 3 - Dec. 8, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
(special note: the class will not meet on October 27th and/or November 10th)
This weekly class for 3rd-5th graders meets on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 in room 227. Come for some much needed reflection and “God time,” as we explore the many different ways we can connect with, talk to, and listen to God. During these 5 weeks we will be focusing on spiritual disciplines and stories in the bible that help us prepare for the mystery of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany.

Adults can experience Narnia too!
A book club discussion with Rev. Tanya Eustace.
Your Narnia experience begins Thursday , November 6th 7:00-9:00.

Sunday School: We provide Sunday School Programs for children 3 and older at both the 9:30 and the 11:00 hour.

Each class is taught by a team of teachers who rotate teaching duties throughout each month. Each class is an hour long, and they end promptly at 10:30 and 12:00. Children, Worship, Music (Kinder-5th grade- 11:00 Service only- This is a combination of the Musikgarten and Children in Worship Programs.

Childcare is provided for children 2 and under during all worship and Sunday School Hours (8:15-12:00)
Under two: We invite you to bring your child to our nursery reception area where you and your child will be warmly greeted by our child care coordinator, Lauren Price.
