God, grant that ["name" or "these children" or "these persons"] may grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that with the restraining and renewing influence of the Holy Spirit ["he/she/they"] may always live as your ["child/children"] serving you faithfully all ["his/her/their"] days.
[If
only adults/youth
are being baptized,
the prayer ends
with these words:]
In Christ's name
we pray. Amen.
[If
children are being
baptized, the prayer
continues with these
words:]
We also pray that
you will guide and
uphold the parents
of ["name"
or "these children"]
so that by their
loving care, wise
counsel and holy
example, they may
lead ["name"
or "these children"]
into that
life of faith whose
fruit is everlasting
joy and peace; through
Jesus Christ our
Lord. Amen.
